Welcome! - My story

This blog is a result of some very negative experiences I've had with Qwest over the years. It all started 5 years ago when I wanted to cancel our long distance service with Qwest and remove our names from the phone book.

I called up Qwest and asked them if they could please cancel my long distance. "Sure" they said, "there will be a $5.99 fee for canceling on your next bill". So you have to pay in order to NOT have long distance. Next I asked if they could take our names out of the phone book. "Sure" they said, "there will be a $3.99 monthly fee". Again, you have to pay to NOT have your name in the phone book! So, we decided to go with cell phones instead, and we're glad we did!

Next problem came when we moved into our new house. We wanted internet service but no phone line. First, Qwest couldn't find anyone to tell me how much that would cost, next, they couldn't find our address, and finally, they said it wasn't available in our area, but in should be within 6 months to a year! Well, that was very nice of them to give me a time frame! All I needed to to was wait patiently for 6 months to a 1 year for them to arrive. I find it funny that an entire human being can be created within the time frame it takes Qwest to make internet service available.

So, we went with a different provider, and one week later, Qwest calls back telling me that a technician will be by within the next week to install my internet! It felt sooooo good to tell them that I already signed up with someone else.

Today, I called to get the internet hooked up at our current home. My neighbors next door neighbors have internet through Qwest. When I called they couldn't find my address, I gave them the address of my neighbors so that they could easily find MY address, and they wouldn't take my neighbors address because they couldn't "discuss" their account. They lady kept insisting that the address I provided for my house didn't exist. I assured her that I actually do exist, and my house is very real. The conversation ended as usual, with keep calling back to find out when we'll have service in your area, (even though it already exists in my area).

So, for the past 3 years I've been trying to pay Qwest for a service that they provide. I'm a willing customer, waiting with my credit card ready to pay them, but, alas, it isn't meant to be.
